Just thinking about upping my standard ion barrel but i dunno what to get. The 2 i like are the freak and the dye boomstick. One question i do have is which is the best material to buy stainless steel or ali. Because i would like a black back and blue front but i know you can only get colours on the ali one thanks. ( HOPE I DIDNT SOUND TOO TARTY WITH THE COLOURS, WELL ITS GOTTA MATCH)..

Another thing is it worth the money buying a barrel kit with the different bore sizes i think freak do one i seen it in my german paintball mag maxs sport..

you really should run a search through the forums before posting as there have been about a dozen threads on the same thing.

I have a freak system for my ion, it's the old stainless/chrome back with the coloured ali inserts, I have a few front ranging from a blue AA around the 10" mark up to a huge 18" hand cannon front in black.

Freak sys is fine and works well regardless of whether you have the ali or stainless inserts.

Might also be work looking at the lucky un1tec although you're a bit more limited on fronts they do various bore's for the backs and come in lots of tarty colours :) . People rave about them on here, I've not ued one so can't coment.

price wise you might pick up a used freak kit (ion threaded ones can be rare) for about £40-50, the other you'd probably have to buy new as they are even more rare for sale on the forums.

:D Just checked out the lucky barrel looks smart great price aswell.Whats the best size to get 685, 689, 693. I prob will get all the bores at some point but just wondering what one would be best for the time being..

Another quick question regarding batteries . Do you lot use rechargable batteries for your gun and hopper or do you use normal ones. Stupid question really but im new to paintball. Is there a good place to get cheap batteries from and how long do they usally last for.

693 is the best bore size to start with.

Rechargables are not used a whole lot because they hold less power and nobody wants their equipment to run out of juice mid game.

You can get away with rechargable AAs in your halo, maybe a rechragable PP3 in your marker if your careful, but thats about it.

Batteries....

Pulse loaders eat AA's so I have just bought a 20 pack of Durcacell plus from Wickes for £7.99, however i think they are marked at £9.99 but the cashier made a mistake, but even at £9.99 this is still cheap.

Locally Wickes is the cheapest place I have found, and is a smart buy when buying in bulk.

what john said is pretty darn good advice, to add to that, there are rechargable's battery packs called "bone packs" they are for hoppers and are the shazniz!
