hi guys

i was just wondering what the optimum settings for dwell and rebound would be for the old ion (not XE) with a blackheart board without a QEV ? ;)

Any feedback would be appreciated

Contact rider on here, he should be able to help, if not look at ionowners.com there is a full list of settings on there.

dwell is a bit of a personal thing - it varies on how you want to go as far as balancing efficiency and consistancy - as well as what else you have inside the ion.

first is to set your operating pressure - this will vary depending on your internals.

to give you a starting point, bottom out the dwell, then bring it up a few clicks at a time until you get a full cycle. this is your lowest functional dwell - but don't use it!

next, let rip with the marker and make sure it will continue to fire without dropping of - it most likely will eventually stop....

up the dwell a few clicks and do again. keep doing this until it will shoot continually.

next take it to a chrono to check velocity and shot to shot consistancy. if your velocity is way off, set it using the reg adjustor, then - you'll love this bit - reoptimise the dwell as before.... (note: you might get away with out doing this....)

once your pressure/velocity is set check the actual shot to shot consistancy. this bit becomes personal choice. if your fps is incosistant, you can bring it tighter by upping the dwell. but every little increase in dwell, is a little decrease in efficiency. so play around and find your own balance.

hope that helps......
