Following some recent negative occurances on here, I had an idea, I dont get them very often, so ... drumroll ...

Just a thought, might be worth having a sticky at the top of the forum also known as 'the sh!t list' where names of persistent offenders can be named and shamed ? - also a quick reference point for everyone to check on the dodgy sh!t housers.

Dodgy traders are generally banned anyway and so putting up the names may be pointless though it could work on an interim level and could be used to flag up potential trouble and might act as a deterrent.

Ive mentioned this to Robbo who suggested opening it to the floor .. suggestions / opinions please ..

I thank you kindly sirs ..

if theyre dodgy, they generally get their marching orders... a list doesn't stop them posting up under another name... same as banning them each time they appear does.

so no real difference in the long or short run :) bad ip addresses maybe, but since us plebs cant see them anyways, it'd only be useful for mods :)

IMO 3/4 seperate things could / should be done.

1) Have a minimum post count to post in Classifieds, 100 posts or so

2) Have a forum where people who are "Verified" can buy / sell with confidence, only people authorised accounts can start threads... Maybe have a minimum post count and have to be auth'ed via a certain ammount of "credible" references and have maybe a phonecall authorisation from an admin.

3) List - but as said it wouldnt stop new accounts

4) Have accoutns have to be validated by admins if they havent already been done.

Some of those would take up alot of the admin's time. And having a post count of 100 would mean people like me who only really use the classified would not be able to post wanted adds etc, but the seperate "Trusted" area is a good idea

I think its a good idea for sure, if people make new accounts purely for trading them thats upto them but i would rarely trade with a new forum member anyway so it would work both ways.
