thanks for all the help so far!!!

i had a problem with bolt stick which i have cured by removing the venturi bolt and refitting the oridginal foam bolt but i still have a problem in that i keep breaking nubbins (think thats the correct spelling) they snap on the first fire

could this be caused by excessive pressure as i have notice that i get a cut ball but after that in a sucession of firing its o.k. its only ever the first ball that cuts.

or could the bolt be moving to far ????

your surgestions plaese gentlemen

It does sound strange that your nubbins break, how recent is your power tube spring? Perhaps that is weak and its flying to far??

I have got both the new and old nubbins on various barrels and havent had that problem (yet)

What size spacer have you got in your power tube tip? If this is to short it will result in your bolt sticking. However im not to sure venturi bolts have spacers?

The reason ( i think ) for you braking your first ball, is your pressure build up. This is usually a worn reg seat o-ring (small hard plastic one, in the valve body) if this o-ring isnt 100% then it will leak through and slowly build up more pressure, resulting in the first shot to be very hot.

Let us know how you get on.

all sounds about right thanks for that confirms what i was thinking

i think i will bite the bulit and send it back to air gun designs for a service let the professionals set it up and clear any problems rather then get stuck in.

thanks for the input !!!!!

Replace the whole lot!

I recently bought a second hand mag and on the first fire I had all sorts of problems with sticky springs, leaks and other things. The way I fixed them all is to invest £14 quid in a spares kit. You get o-rings a new spring, nubbins the whole lot. I replaced every piece just so I know that it was all new, and it was fixed.

Get yourself a parts kit and replace the nubbins and perhapes the spring.

Bending and breaking nubbins was one of the strongest reasons I quit using a Mag. It was ruining my barrels!!! When I think about it, I probably would have stuck with my Mag (probably would have upgraded it to an Emag) if they had come out with the Superbolt and plastic nubbins which eliminate that problem. Wire nubbins cut balls right before they're about to bend or break. I probably had a bad luck streak with them, but 5 in a row convinced me to just get rid of the gun. Spacers would only be a problem if you got the spacer size incorrect, too large specifically. I've never seen that problem occur with a properly fitted spacer, though there seem to be more people these days who say don't use them at all.

I think your problem should be fixed mate. What I think was causing the problem was your regulator seat. That is the thick washer that goes in between the two halves of the valve assembly. Because it was a little worn it was not seated properly.
This caused a big build up of pressure in the valve and made your first shot way too hot. Now this is fixed you should be able to fire your marker without breaking nubbins. I will bring a couple along on sunday for you to try out.
