Brought this brand new, but for some reason the cocking rod when pulled back does not lock (as you should do before putting air on).

With battery in and air attached the bolt moves back and stays back.

Its brand new and hasnt been used or touched, is this something simple? Or is it knackered?

sounds like the lug isnt catching on the sear..

you need to take the bolt out and put an allen key cant remember the size of it. Then put it down the hole behind the feed neck and pull the cocking rod till the allen key falls down, turn a quater turn clockwise and see if it catches then

When you draw the bolt back by hand it locks, yes?
If it does but not when fired sounds like there's not enought pressure from the regulator.
Put the air on and try cycling whilst adjusting the regulator(try it in and out).
When it works if it still stays in the cocking position whilst you hold the trigger then you have it in "classic" mode.

Yes it now cocks although it didn't before.

Hmmm odd thing is moments after posting last night and logging off I was getting ready to pack it away.

Literally as I was about to turn it off the backblock slid back on its own. So its back to being stuck out on its own. removing the battery it returns.
