tested my new cocker last night and it is a beut, but when i start to use it after putting it down, it doesnt seem to fire, and i even managed to get about 5 balls in one fire. i pulled the trigger and it didnt fire, i did this 4/5 times, then it fire and all these balls came out, it has this little thing that should stop multiballing, but it didnt chop any either. any ideas.

once fired a couple of times it sems to be great.

Hmmm... sounds like there isn't enough pressure on the first few shots to get the balls out the barrel.

But what do i know i am not a cocker owner :D

First look i would say not enough gas in the tank or you have a small leak :)

Sorry i can't help much more. :)

My first thought would be that there is something wrong with your ball detent (the bit that stops the balls rolling down the barrel). If not, then I don't have a clue. I get other people to sort my cocker out. Wait till Brian, Jahlad or some other clever person that usually replies to these threads comes online. They will know.

or there is a small leak somewhere that is unheard (so it all leaks out your gun when u put it down) then you pick it up, cycle it 5 times,it cycles enough to pull the bolt back, and feed 5 balls, but not enough to cock, then enough air charges to finally fire.....or am i just talking crap? :D :D :D ;)

Sounds right to me, is your reg sweetspotted? If so just crank up your LPR as it sounds to me like the cocking pressure is well too low!

Thanks Munkeh,

Same with most markers, if the pressure isn't sufficient enough it wont get past the barrel which if its a good match should get stuck like they have.

Just poor pressure in the bolt forward-valve open bit of the cycle :D

I haven't ever owned a cocker, but this problem is across a wide range of markers. :D

Does it only happen after the gun has been sitting for a while? Also, after the first 4-5 shots, as long as you keep shooting, does it work well until it sits again?

If so, then check the reg for creep. Your pressure is slowly building when the gun sits, and that extra pressure is holding the valve closed until it bleeds off by being cycled a few times.

ummm, well i used the marker all day yesterday, and only on occasions did it fire 2/3 balls at once, otherwise the only problem was actually getting the balls into the marker as i only have a normal hopper.
