The IronLions-London would like to invite everyone on p8ntballer to join us at The Paintball Centre (TPC) in the Docklands Friday, 20 August, for paintball, BBQ and beer.
The IronLions monthly paintball social, which usually just involves drinking beer and talking about paintball, is holding this month's gathering at TPC in Canary Wharf where we can actually play some games before getting pissed. We will kick off around 6:00 PM and the walk-on fee is a tenner. Site paint only I'm afraid but its only 40 quid for a box of 2000. Co2 and air fills are available and included in your walk on fee. The site is a converted 40,000 sq. ft warehouse with 2 sup'air fields and a scenario field. As it is indoors, we will play rain or shine.
You can bring your own beverages and food or we will take up a collection of a few quid apiece and make a run to Asda. If you can't get there in time to play, or just want to drink, come down for the BBQ (There isn't any walk on fee if you don't play) The games have to end by 9:30 PM because of noise restrictions but we will be there drinking and eating for a while afterwards. We'll likely end up in one of the local pubs if time permits.
This is a great way to check out the site if you haven't seen it yet. Plus, you can get in some trigger time and meet other area paintballers. See you there!
Directions:
Come out of the main exit of Canary Wharf Tube stop (the one w/ the art that resembles a decapitated head) and take an immediate right. Walk up the steps to the road and take a right. Walk in a straight line past the Citi Bank building on right and Barclays on the left. Continue on this road, over the water, until you reach a roundabout. On the far side of the roundabout just past the security booth are some metal stairs, go down them and just follow the road. When you hit the river follow around to the left and you will come to a big gate on the left with a small sign. The entrance is on the right side of the second warehouse. This is about a 10 min walk overall. There is also plenty of parking if you manage to find a designated driver.
