ASA keeps unscrewing

OK, I have a 2005 CP on/off ASA on my Alias. The f**ker keeps unscrewing on me at the most inconvenient of times, like when I'm trying to sweet spot etc. What, if anything, can be done to sort this out?

Swap it for a Check-It Unimount.

What do you mean, unscrewing? the mounting screws? The bottle from it? The on/off knob?

If its the screws, mild threadlock or some ptfe...

best thing and its piece o CAKE stick a similarly matched o ring around the screw and screw it in... you'll find a much tighter grip


or use thread sealant not loctite (unless its a very low strength variety)

maybe even a little bit of ptfe tape

loads of ways just to hold it tight enough without using loctites.

not having a go ian just thining less drastic measures

To clarify, it's the on/off knob that keeps unscrewing, leaving me with paint travelling at about 1fps, and is rather irritating.

thread lock = loctite

refering to light blue (424, i think) shouldnt have an issue budging!

Make sure its screwed all the way in to satrt with...if you can find a spring washer, to fit on the thread side of teh knob, bung one on...when its tight...teh spring might lock teh threads enough to stop it unscrewing...or it might make it worse...

or put an oring on the threae side of the knob that should work or just spin it up quickly so it bites if you know what i mean
