I've read a fair few stories similar to this, but most are from over in the USA, now I have witnessed it first hand, I feel pissed off.

Today I was leaving work early to get back into Birmingham and meet my missus;). I work at a site by Nuneaton railway station, installing a new line among many things. Over the rail there is a small road which leads down to an abandoned mine/quarry.
As I was walking out through the car park, approaching the work minibus's I saw a lad firing a paintball marker over this line at the vans. Not only did he not have a mask on, but he was firing in the direction of a fair few guys who were hanging around the car park  I saw him fire about 5, maybe a few more balls and there were the marks on the vans, so I knew I wasnt seeing things. I saw the lad and 2 mates walk off into the grounds of this abandoned mine with gun in hand, and most definitely not any masks.

So, what would you do?

Im not sure how many of the guys working noticed this, and so I took it upon myself to phone the police and get this dealt with. I doubt most of the guys there would hve, and seeing as I play the sport fairly regularly, I dont want to see it get banned, or anybody get injured. I asked the local cops to send somebody round to get these arseholes sorted out.
I have not been back into work yet, so dont know whether anything came of this, but I also alerted the SEQ (safety, environment etc) section as we have to report anything like this on and around the rail.

Its things like this that make you wonder what complete and utter retards there are in the world. Should some sort of licence need be introduced for owners? I hope it never comes to that, but with incidents such as this, it could happen, and perhaps should happen:(
people/kids like this make me want to line them up against the wall and let them have a hopper full of balls fired at them (with masks as im not that harsh)

rant over (for now)

Its always going to be the few Mike that screw it up for the lot of us...

Its really difficult to get paintball good press, but bad press of any kind is easy to come by :(

Necause we are (at the moment) in the most part ignored by the powers that be we have to self regualte a lot of things, maybe marker ownership is something that should be regulated? People who use markers for the purpose they were designed would have no problem with this, it is only those that abuse them that would :)

God knows how you could enforce such a thing though...

It is sad when you see things like this, especially seeing as if one of them was injured I bet it would somehow be turned around to the retailer that sold the marker being 'irresponsible' or something...

I wouldn't follow them to give them an earful, they would just shoot you knowing what they're thinking.

sorry but that is the wrongest/worstest/(insert negative here)est proposal ive ever heard.

way to get new players into the game eh?

in order to play paintball you now HAVE to spend a good £500 and upwards on a starter marker.
err nah. if it was like that, would you be playing, would any of us?
would sites be open?

no

simple as that.

anyway, havent heard anything from the coppers and nothing has been said at work
