Are there to many competitions?

Stroke the badge Kenneth!
Are there too many competitions? Is the summer / autumn too crowded? Do we need promoters and the UK paintball league to get together and spread things out?

Or is everything fine and dandy?

Just looking at July and Pheonix Cup followed the weekend after by Twisted Cup and Heavens Gate on the same weekend?

What do you think?

No, I agree. But I suppose organisers have to take advantage of the longer daylight hours and so prefer to put events on when there is more chance of it being lighter, drier and warmer.

It's a shame though as I will have to choose some events over others simply because there are too many events bunched up...

fly to america and offer yourself for cloning experiments... that way you will be able to play all the events you want... or if that seems a little like to much hard work a lifesize carboard cut out might just do the trick!
;)

p.s i agree to many bloody tournaments not enough time!

true but you have to remember that not a lot of people want to travel half way across the country to get to an event. So even though to events occur on the same day they might be the other ends of the country. Thus players will chose to go to the nearest one. Hence the reason why S2k3 is played by predominently Northern teams and the M25 is played by Southerners.
now look at the schedule for september. Not many events on then is there. Why you may ask. Well its because the Flagship of the British paintball scene is in that month, and every team trys to get down to this one.

If you feel that there are to many events and you want to play them all but can't because they clash. Then behave, your being a pimp And I hate you for having the cash to do it.

I personally feel that there are too many 'BIG' events, the pinnacle of european ball exists in the form of the millenium. Domestically there is a need for competitive paintball played on decent flat grass fields, marshalled well, venues don't really matter nor does publicity. Domestic UK tournaments should be as cheap as possible and (in my opinion) should not offer prizes at all, just allow teams to roll out, play ball, improve, do better against european teams without breaking the bank.

Hi guys

she put's her UKPL hat on..................

Ok this is the first year of the UKPL really sitting down and getting on with things.

And we are lots is happening behind the sences and most of this years events were already planned last year so it was not possible to avoid all the clashes this year.

The UKPL is made up of 5 event organisors and as such we have no sway over the independant events or their organisers.

The phonix cup was also clashing with the series 2003 event these two are now one and the same, hence one less clash. sadly there are only so many weekends.

We hope to avoid or at least minimalize the clashes next year.
