I talked to one guy who said that Pirhanas take a lot of mainteneance. Is this true? Everything else I've heard about them is good. I'm going to get one if the aren't too hard to maintain. Also, I just want a low-end gun, so I'm looking at either the basic gun, or the one with a bottomline and vertical feed. Is the model with a bottomline and a vertical feed worth it?

The only parts that might need replacing every now and then are the usual bits like o-rings, and the sear and hammer because of the wear on these parts. But they can be replaced within a few minutes.
For a new guy who isn't familiar with markers and their workings, this thing is a god-sent.

It's a heck of a lot simpler than my angel:D

i dont think spyders would survive in water, let alone in a fight with a piranahs.

on a more paintball note, i would take vertical feed over power feed any day.................thats cos i have power feed......s**t

Oops, I got powerfeed, too. Oh, well. How much better is the vertical feed? How do I tell if I'm chopping balls? This gun is definitely better than my brother's Stingray! :) Thanks for the advice, guys.

P.S. How much gas is supposed to vent when you take off your CO2 tank? It seems like a lot when I do it.

ok, chopping balls.....thats easy.

usualy the bolt gets jammed forward (on spyder style blowbacks) plus ther is a broken ball in the chamber with all the shell and gunk that goes with it.

gas venting......bit more complicated

This depends on what type of valve you have.

If you have an on/off valve then (when it is closed) when you take the tank off you will only went the gas that is still inside the gun. This can be a lot if you have a reg, expansion chamber or low pressure chamber.

If you have a pin valve you will still have the gas inside the gun but also a small bit then the o-ring seal breaks and the pin is still down. In this case, the faster you unscrew the tank the less extra gas you will loose.

hope that clears it up, if not ask any more questons
