All real men despise Valentine's Day as the crass commerical enterprise it is designed only to give women (another) excuse to both expect pro forma romance that must, by modern definition, lighten wallets and pander to their fantasies. Beside, St. Valentine was festive and all those cupids floating around are plainly "light in the loafers." However you look at it's a loser unless you're some sort of whipped Gamma male.
