A lot of camo actually stands out in the environment that people use it in. Make sure if you get camo, you choose something specifically suitable to your location.

Dull colored clothes are fine- gray actually works pretty well in a lot of places. Keep in mind that camo only really works when you are holding still. Paintball tends to move pretty quickly sometimes...

The most important thing if you want to play as a "sniper" is patience. Since you will be waiting for people to come to where you are set up, you will need to know the lay of the land, and have the patience to wait there for people to get where you want them to be. Also, don't believe any of the talk about "this barrel shoots farther" or "that gun is more accurate." Very little of that sort of talk is true, so focus on how you play. That matters as much or more than gear, assuming you have equipment comparable to what your opponent plays with.

The clown thing was a Family Guy reference, shadow9712. Lighten up a little, dood. Remember, this is an English board, and in England, woodsball is less prevalent than in the US. Most of the posters here are more interested in tournament play, so it might be more difficult getting info on the kind of paintball you like. I play tournament paintball, but I remember my roots (and leaves and branches and mosquitoes).

As someone who knows a little about being a "Sniper"...you should be aware, that a tree, is not always a good location to set up..especially if you are the type to go nuts ona group, when you see them.
Reason being...trees are great, until the suss your there, then your buggered coz they arent too easy to get out of quickly and without being seen...so you'll get shot to sh!t.

If possible, once set up...pick a target, and make sure you can hit it, then use this info, when your soft target comes through...that way you may only need one shot on them...you dont want to be letting off too many shots, when eyes are on you.

As a general rule...you should only fire one or two shots from any given location, before moving...that is where your fieldcraft comes into it and how good you are at using camo.

I know people will laugh, but a Ghillie suit is an absolute godsend...i have several for deerstalking and other activities and if used correctly....will render you invisble, even to very close scrutiny.

"other activities and if used correctly"

For some reason, I always look for the sexual subtext in your posts, Skeet, but either you are being far more subtle than usual, or I have my mind in the gutter. Funny image, though.
