Mooching round the 50, with the flag
I got hold of an apex barrel today and have a couple of quick questions.

is the apex tip interchangable, as in can I remove it from the current barrel and put it on a freak front for instance?

Second now this may be a red herring but the package it arrived in had the word 'spyder' around the top, indicating the thread pattern? I got a bit concerned as all my marker run cocker threads, however it fits on my DM3 and luckyst stage 5 so there's no problem, are spyder and cocker threads the same?

Spyder and cocker are different. I suspect that you just have a different package with a cocker Apex inside.

The tip can be moved from one barrel to another. I understand that there is a bit of modification required. I have no idea as to what though.

the mod invloved wrapping electrical tape round the end of a barrel to give the apex tip something to grip/rotate on.

saw a guy has sawn a 3-4 in barrel with the apex attached still gets the same range apparantely.

thats if you are going into barrel modding.

I love the apex gives long range.:p:p

this is my sp8 with an 18" all american/freak and the apex:

i've given up on the long shroud as it was just too big (being as my other main gat is an ego....) so have down sized to a 14" all american front.

as i said, it needs to be a parallel tipped barrel, which is why i went for the all american fronts, but there are plenty more out there.

as you'll see from the link below, it needs to be a 7/8" outer diameter for this particular adaptor to work.

however the adaptor is really just a plastic ring 1" wide with a slot cut through it. if you find a barrel you like, you can probably get a peice of plastic piping from a plumbers merchants (or B&Q) that would have the correct inner and outer diameters.

there is no actual modding of your barrel required.....

send me a price fella and a pic if you have one

cheers

See, so the picture isn't very enlightning- you get two little delrin tube halves. BUT it means you can fit your Apex tip onto a flat ended barrel and you can still use all the cool Apex features like the hook and dip shots and of course the legendary Flatline effect.

Cost me US$25 so say £10 including paypal and postage?
