Anyone want to share paintball ball buying advice?

So I've just go into paintball and playing woodsball.

What paint is the best value for money, so flies straight and doesn't bounce too much.

Obviously paint is the costly consumable in this sport which I'm quickly realising.

What paint brand and grade does everyone here recommend, something that flies straight and true is the biggest priority!

Its more a question of how it is stored. Buying your paint from a reputable supplier is your best bet. Stored correctly, even the cheapest paint will shoot better than an expensive box stored in a cold shed for 6 months. If you wanted most tournaments, big games, scenario events etc can supply well priced paint to you that has been stored correctly, especially if you pre arrange before you go.

Nope, people will tell you whats their fave, but any of the big brands make perfectly acceptable paint, and in different grades too.

Idealy buy from the site, or traders at the event. That puts the money into the site, or the traders that put the effort into supporting the event organiser and providing you as a player support via things to buy with hands on to look at them, tech support, face to face service etc

It also means you have someone to complain to if the box is battered, bags are bashed and paint is broken or in bad condition etc
They are also the people you expect to store paint properly, and you don't get the added expense and hassle of ordering paint from a shop, getting it on time, carrying it etc

If there is something specific you want or high quantity then order it for collection on the day

But if you wait to the day you can also assess the condition and see if people are having issues with certain brands or batches

Thanks for the advice this is very useful, the site I play at sells Empire Formula 13 for £30 a box which I think is actually a pretty good deal. Going to try that out next week and see how it shoots.

Draxuss
Empire/RPS
Sterling
Above are just a few...
Which brand is personal preference. Each brand will have different grades of paint from rec-ball all the way to tourney grade (normally 4 or 5 different grades)
Grades also differ seasonally, winter/summer paint etc.

It being GI is not whats important. Its who you got it off, obviously stores it correctly! Who is your supplier? Or do you get it at events?
