With any luck I'll be trotting down to Bullswood this weekend to have a stab at marshalling. Do any of you have any advice re your marshalling experiences and things to keep in mind?

Did you marshal then? I was down on Sunday.
Best way to learn is to keep an eye on the more experienced marshals on site and understand how they fulfil their various roles during the day.
One thing though. Avoid being shouty. Paying customers dont like being a stranger being loud at them, even if they are breaking the rules. Being quick is the main thing and to be quick you have to be aware!
One more thing. Remember the phrase 'paying customer'. It's central to the whole thing.

Yeah mate just remember do your job and then no-one can have a go at you.
You will notice when i work that i get the living piss ripped outa me but its all good fun down at Bullswood

Thanks chaps, some sound advice there.
I'll be starting this weekend ( both Saturday and Sunday hopefully, gotta call Dan and Clare later this week to confirm ) so unless you're skivving down at temple, I'll see you there.

how do you become a marshal?.is there some sort of training course you have to do or do you just do something else?.i wouldnt mind doing some marshaling

Although marshaling courses are available (not to sure where though. Try the UKPSF) your best bet will be to visit your local rec site and ask if they need any marshals.
