Had a few markers before but not for a few years. Looking to get back into it, cant really decide wich marker to get. Has anyone got any recomendations on good paintball shops? preferably with a website. Got a budget of around £350 But for that i want the marker, hopper and tank. Was looking at a Proto SLG 09 wich looks pretty decent enough to start off with. Also my dad has a SP Ion and uses a 3000 psi Air tank and after he's shot around 500 paintballs the tanks empty. Isn't this pretty low? Considering the only guy around my area charges £4! to fill it back up is there any recomendations on a better tank to get more shots or anything? Any help appreciated, thanks.

And BZ and sloth, check out their own sections of this forum, down at the bottom.

Give LiPS a call and they'll custom make you a starter pack, all of the above have great service and are all friendly.

The SLG is a fantastic starter marker. The board is practically the same as in the high end Dye range, and the service from dye/proto is great. Efficiency of an SLG UL, if it's anything similar to the 08SLG, should be around 600-700 shots from a 07.l/3000psi. It's a great shooter, and by far the best marker in the £200 range, especially since Smart Parts went down. More options become available if you go into the second hand market, but the SLG is great as is, and you'll get a warranty when you buy new.

If you want more air, then you can stretch to a 1.1l/4500psi fibrewrap. This'll set you back somewhere in the region of 140-160 new, ~~90 second hand. I'm not sure how much this will affect your fill fee, but most paintball sites will supply their own air free of charge so you shouldn't worry so much.

I have absolutely no clue with Milsim, I'm afraid
:)
Might have to wait for someone else to answer that.

I will offer one musing, though. Markers such as the BT4 and Tipmann 98 are the guns that most sites use as their rentals. If the site looks after them well, buying one won't offer you any kind of benefit unless you upgrade them to hell, which'll cost a sodload.

I've read good things about the TM-7 and SP1, but like I said, I don't know anything about milsim.

Best of luck either way, any more questions just ask.
