Am looking for a 16" barrel for my G7 Fly, maybe a Freak kit. Is there any downside to having a longer barrel, apart from extra weight and size? Any recommendations on particular barrels for extra accuracy?

16inch is pretty cool , i dont think there would be any downside to using a longer barrel except the fact that it gets in the way?

I have heard anything over a 14inch doesnt make a diffrent purely just looks , but thats just hear say.

Paul.

freak kit's are good, work well on my angel's. As for a 16" barrel, it's down to personal preferance at the end of the day but i'd stick with a 10"-12" barrel :D

obviously with superman slides it's easier to dig in the dirt, also people can see your barrel sticking out your bunker if you're shooting cross field, they may be able to shoot it, if you're snap shooting you may not be able to get your barrel behind the bunker and play tight etc etc

Accuaracy is not dependant on length of barrel but by the paint to bore match. Hence why the freak kits are so good.

Using a 16" pipe will mean you are pushing the ball through a longer distance. In doing this you will ne more gass to chrono to the 280 mark for example. Therefore you will use more gas per shot than if you where using a 14" say.

hope this helps.

All of the above is negligable but true, but the only thing that will have any noticeable effect on you is that you'll find it gets in the way if you are a player that stays tight to the bunkers.
Back players use 16`s easily but you won't get one of those front whippets using them:rolleyes:
oh another thing, more barrel, more of a target you've got in your hand:p

unless you're adept at snap shooting and plan to use it to push back sup-air obstacles i really wouldn't bother with 16". Acuracy... no diff. Extra gas consumption... negligible. Harder to sell on as less desirable.... certainly.

A 14" barrel is just about right, short enough to be easily manoeuvrable but long enough for obstacle poking. A freak is still a great barrel set just don't bother with the tiny and huge inserts you'll never use.

If you want good accuracy then make sure your reg is running well, your air-source is consistent with a decent recharge and above all else your paint is round as round can be and the same size throughout. All the other accuracy myths are just that, cods-wallop.
