Just realised I posted this in classifieds!! doh

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone out there is able to sort out problems with cockers up in the sunny north-east of England?

Have a problem with an Eclipse Cocker chopping, can't seem to work out why its doing it.

Was hoping to be able to send it to Planet and get it looked at... unfortunately Jack is stowed off and can't look at it until the 13th, and I have a game on the 12th and don't really want to miss it

My second option would have been to take it to Pheonix and get Andy to sort it out for me... unfortunately he is on holiday and not back until the 8th, and have a feeling he will be really busy when he gets back..

Anybody out there able to help? Am willing to travel, and have cash waiting if I can get it sorted

Cheers

Dave

Have you tried sorting it yourself? It should[/b] just be a timing problem if not then talk to us get a thread up in the tech room explaining whats happening and what you've tried and we'll help you out!

Right, gas it up and pull/hold the trigger back, can you see much of the bolt?

Then, put tissue over the feed tube and fire, does the tissue go up or get sucked in?

Will get my air filled on Saturday morning and also get myself some new paintballs :)

Will let you know what the results are!! Don't you just hate running out of air :)

Your time/help greatly appreciated :)

Cheers

Could be something really simple mate.
1) Is your cocking rod screwed in tight. As if that's wobbly it'll chop.
2) is your anti-double ball jammed up with crap or screwed in too far?
I kept chopping and it turned out to be something that pointless.

Hi lads,

Am sure I'm not short stroking it, have owned cockers for about a year now, and never had a problem like this :(

Always managed to look at or post on AIR-Powereds forums and sort it out myself if I have had a problem... :)

To answer your questions :)

1. The cocking rod is loctited in really tight.
2. Have taken out the adb, it appeared okay, but just gave it a clean anyway and popped it back in. I have ordered another from Just Paintball anyway just to be on the safe side, although I think the one I have is fine.

I have also checked for blowback, and there isn't any.

Spoke to Jack from Planet and he talked me through a few things as well to try, like pulling the trigger, and pushing in the backblock, then slowly releasing it to make sure that there wasn't any pressure loss... all that was fine also :)

I'm going to pop down to Just Paintball tomorrow (if its open) also and try and pick up some paint, and get my air filled just to give it another try :) I will see what happens then.

Like I say I'm not really a complete newbie to cockers, just appear to have come accross a problem that I have never seen before. I normally just time the cocker, and never do it again unless it misbehaves... I'm in no way a fiddler, great believer in if it works leave it well alone.

Cheers for the help guys.

Right lads,

Have just had my air filled and tried my gun out again at the local site....

Ran about 100 balls through it, then again the dreaded chop. Ran them through slow, then fast, then when I was just shooting off singles again (like 1 a second) it did it again :(

I have now held down the trigger to see where the bolt position is, and it is just about visible down the feed tube.

I also put some tissue on the feed tube and fired some rounds through it to check for blowback, the tissue raised about 1mm from the feed tube, which again is normal.

Anything else that I can try?

Cheers

Dave
