Do anti-chop eyes slow any of you down? I had a discussion with the guys at the local field the other day and they were all saying that they were not impressed with the eyes on the intimidator and the impulse because they felt that they slowed them down and messed up their rhythm. I have never shot one so I would not know. I told them that I thought they would be just as slow having to clean their barrel after the high speed chop associated with fast firing electros if they did not have the eye. They said they have never had a problem with chopping really as long as the paint is good, no matter how fast they shot. What do you guys think? Is the ACE a good idea or just an overpriced gadget to get our money?

IMO
there is no way they slow you down, if anything they allow you to fire faster.
without an eye, you have to almost regulate your ROF so you dont chop chop chop

with an eye like the vision in the impulse, you can pull the trigger as fast as you want and it will fire every time, only skipping a breief second nowand again as your hopper catches up to you! (if you are that fast)
all you need to do is take a look at the likes of the rushers and aa to see how invaluable they are

Vision eyes are worth it!

I agree with Sean. The eye on my imp is invaluable. I've only been able to out shoot it cus of the hopper not going quick enough!

They just plain rock!!:D

Actually-

Alot of the Eyes have a delay built into them, so depending on the software there can be a lag.

As a rule the Reflective can cause a lag a bit longer due to its operation. Since the Eye sences a reflection off of the Ball, a lag needs to be placed in there to compensate for the sensor 'Seeing' the ball partway in the breech. If it is mounted mid-breech, then it could be seeing the bottom of the ball, instead of the side.

And some Eye placements need a longer delay. If the Eye is placed higher up in the breech then a longer 'Wait' period is needed. This can cause a lag.

From what I hear, the IR3 really had a problem due to the COPS system and related Software slowing the gun down. Horrid day when a ACE equipped Cocker can way out shoot a COPS IR3. I believe they fixed it.

The C.O.P.S. System doesn't exacty sence the 'Weight' of the ball.

The COPS has a vibrating tube design that sences the change in the vibrating tube due to contact with another items mass.

It seems like a cool system, and simple, but from what I have heard it just doesn't work that well unless you are using a Force fed loader. And that it is slow. Maybe from paint bouncing around on and off the Cops.

makes it faster

i`v got ACE on my sandridge cocker...and the guys at sandridge says it is suppose to speed the gun up...when it senses a ball it lets the gun cycle faster to catch up with the paint-loader...

i do not know how the impulse or intimidator work...but my sandridge goes faster then most cockers out there...including my friends short-block RACE-gun...his got an eye to, but the gun works on cycles not magnetic sensors....

to mention that you can use ither passive or activ ir...the sandrige use active...while for example the revolution hopper uses passive...if im not mistaken...
