I'm not really sure where to put this so I'll just put it here (sorry mods if this is the wrong place). Has anyone any experience of using ans gear and how much it usually cost to ship from them? thanks

I've bought from Ansgear before because UK dealers couldn't get what I want. It came in 3 days, 2 weeks before Christmas which was very good. On their website it calculates the postage for you. But be warned you get taxed by customs.

If you can I would buy from UK dealers and support them

I bought a night-on unobtainable board from there about a year or so ago. Much the same experience - came quickly, delayed in customs for 3 weeks, then payed around £25ish for customs charges though, half the price of the board.

What're you looking for? I'm sure there are plenty of UK dealers that will get you what you want :) If you're tempted by the lower prices, remember that on top of postage, you'll almost certianly have customs go through it - especially if it's a high-value object. By the time it is all said and done, you might save a quid or two, but it's a hassle.

thanks, I'm not really looking because it's cheaper, I'm looking for a shaft 4 with pink backs and a blue tip (to match my blink ego 10, yes i know it's a bit sad matching all my colours up :p but i quite like it haha ) and I'm even having trouble finding a full shaft 4 in the uk never mind a pink and blue one, going to drop eclipse an email though to see if they've got any hidden away before I get one from the states

It may well be cheaper to buy a shaft kit second hand and then get it reannoed?

The last order I made from ANS had nearly $100 shipping attached. That plus customs charges was quite a sting. Like people have said though... ANS do have exclusive items (nightmare Grillz for instance) I've always found them good.

Used ANS Gear as well a number of times. I had an issue with damaged goods in one order and they resolved it to my satisfaction. As everyone has said, the shipping and customs charges will bump the cost of any purchase. If you cannot got the goods in the UK and it's your only choice, then I'd use them.

I have used ANSGear when I simply couldn't get a TM7 solenoid in the UK for love nor money a while back. It even worked out cheaper than getting it from a UK supplier. However, you have to bear in mind:

1) You get no protection with DSR (Distance Selling Regulations) if you buy abroad, you rely on the faith put in the seller
2) Any problems, it's expensive to post back
3) You may incur customs charges, vat charges and RM handling fees.

The attractive price quickly diminishes when you take these things into consideration.

Frankly, I buy from all around the world, I don't see why not. I also sell all around the world. Companies that treat customers right, offer aftersales service, and quickly answer queries and one's that get my business regardless of where they are based.

If you are thinking about buying a gun or gas tank, then buy it in the UK.

EDIT: Something I do think would help, would be for the UK shops to get their websites sorted out. They are pretty poor compared to their American counterparts websites.

ordered from ANS before with no real drama, usually when they are having on of there sales. ship it using one of the fedex options and you get real time tracking. you will be charged VAT and import duty so add around 30% to your order to give you a rough idea, one of the main benifits of using fedex other than the real time tracking is they invoice you after delivering your goods for the duty.

would support a UK based retailer if you can as there are some good ones, BZ, LIps etc.

but ANS do seem to have some good options in colour matching barrels which is easier than trying to get it anodised
