Ok, so it looks like "shocker lube" or "Dow Corning Molycote 33" is THE lube that's recommended for markers, and it won't rot your o-rings.

Soooooo.... where can I get some (in the UK) that doesn't cost the earth for a pea-sized amount?

Does anybody know what the actual make-up of this lube is, and whether it is sold under a different name in any of the easily accessible electronics/hardware/DIY/motorists supply stores?

Well, currently I'm only using a Spyder Xtra (which is non-electro, but still suspiciously overheated and caused severe wear on the valve/pin the other weekend) but am also thinking about a future upgrade, and what would be cheapest to run - that "love juice" cost me £4 from Smart Parts, and I'm afraid to use it cos it's so expensive... :(
