Team m8 has an Ion and it seems to be sucking the life out of batteries. Its gone though 3 since saturday and the dwell and ROF has changed.

Has anyone got any ideas as ive run out of patience

check the circuit board for excess solder that may be shorting and draining the battery.
mine had a "spare" piece of solder about 1cm long laying across the circuit board.
think i have a pic somewhere

There's no solder excess on the board. The batteries were brand new duracell's.

The gun was bought new months ago and hadnt had any problems untill last week.

Bit of a weird one, mate. As you'll know, Ions do drain batteries when they're left connected when switched off, but not at that rate.

I'd take the circuit board off, connect it to a new battery outside of the gun and see how long it takes to drain (you're sure it's not shorting across the inside of the battery cap, or the wires just outside the cap which often get worn?)

We've had everything apart. from the battery connector all the way to the solenoid.

Im getting to be quite the ION tech now for our team with stripping out triggers, fitting, QEV's and fitting new bolt housings, and bolt to my spare one. But this has me baffelled.
Really haven't a clue im coming to the conclusion that the board is shot. The gun still works, We've had to adjust the dwell a few times to get it right as it keeps changing etc but, so far since sundays tourny nothing. So ill keep you informed.
