Anodising query

Just wondered if anyone has had there marker reanodised? I have got prices from Planet and LPS which are reasonable enough.

However Chris from LPS has informed me that sometimes all the chambers can alter in size when you get it re done, causing the gun to leak etc. He says its a small risk, but one that I should be aware of. ANyone had then gun reanodised, and if so did you have any problems because of it?

Any help appreciated.

The reason for this is that the anodized layer is aluminium oxide, formed from the surface of the metal itself, and since they have to strip off existing anodizing before redoing it, you lose a few microns of metal in the process. I know a few people who've had theirs redone without any trouble - well-oiled o-rings can usually take up a little slop in the system, and any moving parts that actually seal air under pressure aren't usually part of the bits you'd get anodized. Of course, it depends on the marker, though.

in "most" cases, it will only make a difference if its been re-annodised s few times. but obvioulsy if it wasnt all that presision b4 then its more likely to happen

thats TOTALY different.

u need the item to be realy nice and free from scratches or it looks nasty

chroming ADDS to the sizes of things, getting something chromed is more likely to lead to probelms ( although not always ) as when you make something if you want it chromed you should allow for the thickness of the chrome.

BUT it depends on what you want chromed, some things may be ok.

normaly it costs more too

i want the bracket that u supplied with the race gun grip for the electronic 5 way chromed cos it looks utter crap!! all that nice go faster shiny stuff on the front of my evo and then 2 pence worth of bent aluminium - uurrrrggghhhhh!!
the planet boys made a better effort with theirs - nice & shiny

hmm, i do know what yuh mean, but we didnt make em so dont blame us we going to use the Race E-block soon i think

right, getting that chromed will be NO problem, just get it pollished or summin and it should come out well pretty
