to tom allen or other knowledgable angel guru

I have just bought an angel 04 speed for a steal of a price, however i have spoken to the ex ex owner and he said the senso was bit dodgy, and can can insane bouncing. he seems to recall it does this when dry firing.

anyone know the reason or can quote me for a replacement sensi. much apprectiated

also unlesss i outshoot a hopper, if i use a halo, should i have chop problems if i were to disable the sensi? i have a standard halo b and a y board egg - however im no "jack the ripper" with only about 12bps to my name on my eblade *shrug*

cheers

Using a halo you shouldn't really chop anyway, but you can buy replacement Sensi units from any master tech or angel dealer. And sensi won't induce bouncing, it's just a pressure activated anti chop system.

if you disable sensi you can set your max rate of fire to whatever you like. so you won't chop short of using a gravity fed thing.

The bouncing is most likely due to the current trigger setting, so it would be well worth taking/sending it to a tech to have it set correctly. Or you can try altering it yourself if you feel your general technical skills are adequate.

It's possible that the Sensi sensor down at the front of the grip frame has been damaged, this commonly happens when a straightshot has been used to help clear a break since it pushes the Sensi rod down a lot harder than a ball, thus damaging the sensor strip. The only cleaning tool you should use with a Speed 04 to avoid such damage is a fluffy stick (or whatever you call them).

Sensi problems can also occur if the Sensi rod is dirty. Oddly enough paint isn't too much of a problem, but grease is, causing drag on the rod's movements and thus skewing sensor readings. To make sure your Sensi rod is clean, again either send/take it to a tech or you can have a go yourself.

With Sensi working correctly there's no need to switch it off, it doesn't slow your rate of fire in any way unless you're not feeding balls anyway and is fully capable of keeping up with the pneumatics' 30bps.

You should be aware that Halos can cause problems with Speed 04s since they can push hard enough to force balls past the ball detents which will almost certainly lead to a break. Given your rate of fire, you should be perfectly fine with your Egg.

thanks for the advice. obvioslu a bit premature of me as i dont even have this in my posession yet

i am more than likely going to set the guns max ROF to match my egg2 (prob just at 15bps if i can do that, to stick with the rules coming in at present).
that way the hopper should always feed, and i can leave sensi system off opotentially.

cant wait to give it a go now !

guys , this gun used to be mine , sensi on dry firing = bounce like a biiiiiiiach!!! , sensi on paint going through ,no bouce , same with sensi off = no bounce , i think its because when dry firing the bolt hits the sensi then it thinks there is another ball there and fires again , i may be wrong tho.

i guess i will wait and see what the score is. in the meanwhile i am looking for a reg. i have an armageddon set up already on my eblade, so wil probably just try to get another reg and swap the bottles over. dont really want to fork out for a preset or angel air at this moment in time, and im sure the geddon will suit the marker fine (450-500 psi input off the reg to the angel minireg)

thanks for everyones input thus far. will report back when i actually have te4sted the gun myself. If sensi is fine with paint going through then i dont see the problem really.

thanks again paul for the information.

Ok, first off unless you've put in a non-standard bolt, your Speed bolt can't hit the Sensi rod. If you look at the bolt you'll see there is a short groove which lines up with the Sensi rod to avoid this very problem.

As for the issue with bouncing when dry-firing, then the problem is simple: you're dry-firing and expecting the Angel to operate normally.

When you switch on a Speed you have to calibrate Sensi (assuming you want to use it and have it working correctly) by firing a number of balls - some do just 5-7, I prefer 8-10, but that's just my choice - during which time rate of fire is capped to 13bps.

During the calibration the Sensi is filtering out false signals such as those from the firing action so that it can determine the signature of balls actually landing on the tip of the Sensi rod.

If you attempt to calibrate without paint, the Sensi obviously has no valid signatures to recognize and so the calibration will be invalid.

Add in a very tight trigger setting and the greater kick from a marker without paint and you're very likely going to get bouncing.

ooo ooo paul, if this used to be yours, after john after dannys then this thing rules! this thing wont bounce at all.

And Lovetone, no point setting the MROF to 15bps, coz if that happens you'll shoot about 9bps trying REALLY hard, set it to twenty and i doubt you'll get over 14!
