Advice.

Trying to charge my Angel LCD but it keeps saying that the 'Tab is in'.

I have checked that the battery is connected and that looks fine also checked the On/Off switch which also looks fine.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Does the marker power up at all, if not you may have a broken wire from the battery, or a broken switch.

Do you have a multimeter, check there's around 6v at the plug, and check the switch is operating. If you don't have a multimeter get a small car bulb and two pins, put the pins in the socket carefully, then touch the end with one of the pins, and the side with the other, the bulb should light and remain steady.

Pretty sure its when the battery has nearly completely disharged itself, once you get it charging, (turn gun on then insert plug) leave it charging for ages, otherwise it reverts back to safe mode each time you have it in live, lcd i bought awhile ago did this, that solved it.

Thanks for the advice guys. A certain Angel Tech who shall remain nameless forgot to re-attach the battery to the backplate when they had finished servicing the marker.....pfffft;)
Well I would suggest that you name the guy then as by your own posts you have found a connection that doesn't exist.
The battery connects to the board and to the switch and if you can turn the Angel on to say "Tab In" it is connected to the backplate (switch) and connected to the board to give this message. So where was this magical connection?

Ok

Maybe I worded that incorrectly, so just for you Mark;)

As you may or may not have guessed, I'm a complete b00n when it comes to Angels (and for any other Marker come to think about it) so, as posted previously I was having problems with my velocity. I played a Tourny a few weeks back and there was an Angel Tech in attendance who, with my heart-felt thanks, serviced the Marker, replacing various bits and pieces. He confirmed that everything was Ok and that the only problem was that the Battery had no charge. I had thought this funny as I had charged the Battery the nite before but, him being a Teckkie, I didnt question this. Alas, upon my return home I attempted to charge the said Marker only for the LCD screen to say 'TAB IN'. I checked that the battery was connected to the board, which it was and assumed that it was connect to the switch at the back....my mistake....do not assume anything! Only after posting this query and after some advice from Tom (thks very much m8) did I notice that the marker did not power up at all when turned on. So, as Tom says, maybe the wires were broken inside. Upon removing the Backplate I noticed that the wire from the Board was not connected to the switch and nither was the wire from the switch to the Battery. Once this was corrected everything is Honky-Dory, marker is charging like a 'bitch':D

So, there you have it. Nothing magical at all, maybe me assuming that people would understand what I ment when I said Backplate and not Switch.....there I go again....making assumptions:rolleyes

Pretty strange that you were able to turn the board on in any shape of form, but you have to understand how myths get started this could have been the start of one ;)

*note* The screen (board) doesn't stay live (battery power) so to get a Tab In error message then the switch must have been working) Which tends to point to that when you removed the backplate to check that you broke the connection. (you may find that the battery is of the older type and the switch was an add on and the person who did it needs a few lessons in soldering)
Tab In occurs when the Tab IS in (older Angels) or the battery on the later switched versions is totally dead.
To charge an Angel with the Tab In error message you leave it on charge ie connected to a power source for about an hour, a very small charge WILL get through even though the charging bars do not cascade and then you remove the charger, turn the Angel off, turn it back on and it will go to safe then put the charging plug in (all the while leaving the charger pack connected to a live power source) the Angel will then start to charge.
