Hey guys and gals!,
Um i have been offered an Angel IR3 and i really want to get it as i was considering an ION but this 2nd hand IR3 is a bit cheaper! The guy sent me pics etc... all in very nice shape baldy blah but i know didley squat about Angels... I was hoping somone would elighten me on things like the BPS and some specials cause the peep said its got intelli feed, etc software? I have no idea so you know, if you feel like writing a lil bit for me it would be much appreschiated! (If i spelt that right?)
Kind Regards
Tom!

Good marker the iR3.

Well made and reliable, feels like a marker not a toy. Easy to look after, an intellifeed is a cable that goes from the top of the marker to your revolution hopper, each time you fire a shot the paddle rotates. This has 2 positives.

1. Saves on batterys as the hopper is powered by the marker.

2. Stirs the balls each time you fire a shot so you are not waiting until there is a jam before jiggling them about.

Cheaper than an Ion, bargain I say.

Ir3 is probably the one marker WDP really did fcuk up on....

there quiet heavy & really gimickie, the Anti chop system works quiet poorly, also runs at hi pressure (not that thats a bad thing)

There also very outdated, feb 02 i recall them being released and WDP have made about 5-6 new guns since then.

Im not a massive Ion fan but i would by far go for an ion over an ir3...

(Budgie is an Angel fan - intellifeed as standard is one of the best ideas and the internal battery - but when those batteries go and they do its like 40-50 to fix)

ir3s are lovely markers and a bargain at teh silly prices they sell for these days. one thing tho. if you get a dog its a REAL expensive dog to fix if you get a bad one. guy on my team bought an ir3 early last year fro 300 quid (very cheap at the time) then had to spend nearly 250 fixing it (admittedly a quarter fo this was getting theTAXI paint the seller thought he was improving the finish with off)

if you know the seller personally ask him if you can throw some paint through it first. make sure he shows you how to set the cops (anto ball chop thingie) up right and then rip as fast as you can. (cant remember off hand think an ir3 is good for 20+? bps) if it breaks loads of balls or clanks around excessivly send it off to LiPS (01707325007) for a service.

if you dont know the seller then send it off to lips for a checkup anyway and offer to split the cost with him. service is only 25 quid or something silly and the 12.50 could have been really well spent if chris or john say the marker is a dog. then you still have the option to back out of the sale and find one that hasnt been as abused during its career.

all in all if you get a good one ir3 for teh win when it comes to a sub 200 marker, lcd screen. tells you when it needs oiling/greasing game timers etc . much nicer than that crappy plastic thing from smart parts. (cue the flames from pinki et al)

It's worth getting an angel of any sort, if only for the amazing after sales service offered by wdp, lips, and the many angel-techs out there. Myself i would go for the angel lcd, or ir3, then get an eye conversion from John C. You'll then have a great marker, and as fast as anything out there.

And built to last, no cheap plastic, and shoddy machining in an angel.

Ah, but sturdy is good, if you run out of paint you can club someone with it. Seriously unless you are a 7 stone weakling the weight isn't a huge issue.

What makes me laugh is when people buy a marker and rave about it being a couple of ounces lighter than there last one, then shove a halo/reloader on it and a 1.5 litre bottle.

For a beginner would you rather an iR3 which is easy to maintain, the LCD tells you to oil it or give it a grease service.

Or a marker that you have to take apart just to clean the bolt.

When you know markers a bit fine, strip it down to a pile of bits clean it and reassemble.

WDP great support and service.

SP, I bought an Ion to see what they were like, local shop had one, original board was knackered but SP were sending down a new one next day. So I bought it and awaited my new board. That was 6 weeks ago. Excellent shop owner now taking Ion back.

correct me if i am wrong but didnt Dynasty win their tripple crown mainly using IR3's (with added eyes) and the Legion rocked with them and even the great Robbo used one (remember seeing it on planets site for sale) so they cant be all that bad!!!!!!:D ;) :D
