Ok.....so a few months ago I was sold on geting either the X-Mag of holding out for an A4. I decided its going to be an Angel

BUT, now, what i really want to know is whether the A4 is worth the extra money above the Speed.

I'm not a big gadget man, I don't buy a marker cos it looks pretty. I'm also still playing Nov/Am B level so I'd guess there's still a whole load to improve on my basic game before those small advantages of the odd ounce in weight or whatever become important.

What do you reckon.... is the A4 worth an extra 300 squids??

A4

yes matey the A4 is worth the extra money we are sponsored by wdp we have a variety of different angels on the team and a few of the lads have speeds and 2 of us have just had A4's and the one lad has sold his speed to have his A4 they absolutly rock you can set the pressures different so as too be able to shoot more fragile paint the trigger has a totally different feel to it also comes with a mode to cut down trigger bounce which is a great opp. The loader neck also comes with sealing rings so will take loaders easily and you can lock the neck top down no more dropp off hoppers. And the volumisers big one alows for really low pressure. I had an ir3 before me a4 and the speed of the a4 just out performs my ir3
p.s mate you just got to get one ,as MAT from wdp says get a full team on these babies and they will be devastating just one thing get ready for your paint bill to go up :D :D

I like mags... i certainly like x-mags..i tried a 4 at Euro 5 man..was nice..as faas the markers go..I would probably by the Xmag...too many peopl have told me that angels can have accuracy issues...and i do know what costitutes accuracy, the why's and wherefores etc..
however... i could have bought either..but i didnt..i got an Eblade.
The mag, once setup will go on forever,,you wont need a tech to sort it out for you...put a warp and warp breech on it with a fast loader and you will be well away.
They are a peice of piss to work on as far as the valve goes..can strip one and replace all the orings between games with practice.
Pretty, different and built like a tank.
The angel 4 gives you lots of bits and peices for your money...but has a modified speed engine..if you look in the techroom you will see a thread concerning severe choping with a speed.
you wont chop paint with an x mag (if setup and looked after) you wont get shootdown and you wont be able to shoot faster than it can!!!
bBut i have an eblade!

edit;please excuse my terrbel, slightly drunk spelling and grammar!

The Speed and the Angel 4 both use the same basic pneumatic 'engine', so they shoot the same. The Angel 4 comes with a matching volumizer set, allowing the different operating pressure setups Lee mentioned, but you'll have to buy that seperately for the Speed, although it too is capable of being configured for low pressure.

Improvements in the 14-way of the Angel 4 do allow for a slightly higher ROF - 31 vs 30 bps if I recall correctly - but since most of us only shoot at about half the ROF of the Speed, it's not much of an issue.

The Angel 4 has the externally adjustable trigger, which may or may not be a plus point for you. If you're not willing or able to pull a Speed apart to tune the trigger to your tastes - or have access to an Angel tech to do it for you - then the ease of setting your trigger might be worth considering.

As Lee said, there is a de-bounce feature on the Angel 4, but not Speeds, this can be a bit of a problem on Speeds that are set incorrectly, since they're easy to bounce.

The vertical design on the Angel 4 is good, enabling the use of different width feed necks without the tedium of sanding. This neck can be retro fitted to Speeds.

The Angel 4 has an LCD with ease of use and the timer being the main selling point here.

Angel 4s are lighter and smaller, but the effect is minor.

Both are excellent, and really only you can decide if the extra cost of the Angel 4 is worthwhile. Hopefully the info above will help you . Personally, I rarely play nowadays and will possibly be quitting ball, so I haven't bothered replacing my Speed with an Angel 4; if I was stay playing regularly, then I'd have an Angel 4.

Once an angel is set up properly it wil work fine. too many people think that setting the speed or a4 to the fastest setting is a good idea when in reality it aint. you need to allow time for any gun to bed in and tweak out any problems it does have. as for accuracy, i was putting ball on ball onto a post which was on the other side of the field.

a4 or speed

The A4 is full of good gadgets and the speed is basic . As for the speed chopping paint mine has'nt chopped one ball since i bought it, they are both fast firing markers and i would say to try both out before you buy. as mario said it's not always best ,to turn it up to the fastest setting . as for accuracy any marker is only has good as the person shooting it!

If money is an issue... you could always go for the Speed and then upgrade it to the A4 spec with a new board for about .........£200!!

Oh yea... give me your E-blade and an allen key and i make it chop! choppy, chop, chop!

ANY marker will chop IF it is not setup right!
