yeh and me, one of my top 10 ever, Ran is heavy going but good alsoSeven Samurai is a beast of a film. May even watch it later

Wasn't he the guy that wrote the hidden fortress, on which star wars is loosely (having not read it I can only assume) based on
yup balf, that's the fella. in fact there are a few scenes in the original star wars (ep IV) that are very very similar in their way to scenes from hidden fortress.
