Now im not one to be all anti american but sometimes i wish i was a brit! I get online and i see comraderie flowing out the brits ears( asking people to come to tryouts, giving people shots and generally lifting people up. Likewise there are no guys doing that stateside. Man sometimes it sucks over here. I live in Louisiana in the armpit of the south and the fields here have big double standards and unknown rules. Sometimes it really blows. How is anybody supposed to get a break? Anyway hats off to the brits maybe we will catch up on "team spirit" in the next millenium.

But im not bitter..........hell no im not bitter!

Dare I say it?

Obviously, jwstriker is some whiny pantywaist with nothing better to do than suck up to some Brits. Ack!

And as for the fab world of Brit pball, c'mon, everybody gather round for that group hug. Losers.

PS--"I kid because I love." Don Rickles ;)

team spirit

face it the only thing that will help paintball is for us as a group to become inclusive. If you walk onto a field and its like a country club why stay? you should feel comfortable and like you are apart of something. I love the US by the way.

jwstriker you don't know the 1st thing about comraderie! One thing I would not compare US Paintball to what you called "The armpit of of the south." Let me shed some light on your some what closed and narrow eyes... I have played ball in the US and loved and still love every minute of it. If it weren't for the comeraderie I witnessed 1st hand at SC Village I would have never given up 2 hobbies I dedicated 10 years of my life to. Now as for the Britt p8ntball scene it is kewl but don't be fooled there is definitely some double standards at certain fields and in favor of certain teams. Don't get me wrong these guys over here also have that comeraderie. Boy and oh how they love to drink! :D

armpit of the south

dude get your facts straight befroe you decide i dont know anything! the armpit of the south refers to this region in northeast lousiana that is not well off financially. we get no breaks in this part of the country and financially it sucks here thus the armpit joke. Get it right man! The fields are hard to get into because they have sponsored teams there and hardly anyone enthusiastic enough afford to play them. Im as die hard as they come but its tough.

thanks

Mother, is that you?
Hey, lay off Striker geezers. Just the reaction of Baca and Rooster would suggest he's right!

You see, if Strikes was a Brit and had had a bad experience, we'd encourage him to go to our favourite site, cripes, I'd drive up the f in road and pick him up; others would lend him kit or contribute to his paint bill.

Now, that's the difference.

Strikes, next time you're in SoCal look me up and you can come out an play with Flashpoint dude.

Don't listen to Rancid dude, he'd pick you up and drive you to tha woods all right - but it'd be at night, in a thunderstorm..and there wouldn't be a paintball field there, if ya get my drift.

And if he played at Sparklie's, or the 2002 series, he'd get lots of Chick hugs as well :) Don't hear about US female teams hugging the other players.

I hear what you're saying, but let me make sure I got it;

You and your team try to practice at fields that won't cut you a break, as they do for other teams.

You see players from other teams take liberties with the field, and it's facilities. Acting like they own the place while your team is relegated to stand behind the proverbial velvet ropes.

These other teams display behavior that should not warrant the treatment they get, and this offends you even more because your team displays better sportsmanship, yet still get's treated like a group of walk-on players by the field and store owners in your area.

The other teams of your area don't get along with yours because of some fundamental disagreement stemming from an on the field incident. It may just be an "us versus them" mentality whose true origins are unknown, but that they are never the less deep seeded. Hell, it may just be fasionable to dislike each other.

The only true way to endure these trying times, is to stick to your guns so to speak, be as cool to them as they are dicks to you, and eventually things may improve. I say "may improve" because nothing is certain, except if you treat them like they treat you it would be certain that the cycle would continue.
