Erm is this a windup?

Paintball has been trying to shrug off its 'war' image for the last 10+ years and markers like that don't exactly help things.

I guess they've got a place in some scenario games, but even then I'd personally be a bit worried about someone keen to have a marker that could be mistaken for a gun.

Nice to see some level headed thinking. I tried to discuss this on my own forum but got shot down on in flames for encroaching the civil liberties of my 'survivalist' friends. Paramilitaray wargaming does nothing for the social acceptance of our sport. The media picks up on guns like these and associates all paintballers as warmongering fascists. We've been through this years ago and it's a real shame to be back to square one when the sport is so close to gaining mainstream recognition. I'm aware that there are a number of players that enjoy the Real-Action scenario and I know many of them personally. I wish them the best of luck in their endeavours but I fail to see how their stance can benefit the industry as a whole. The question is, do you see yourself as a soldier or an athelete? Alternatively, do you see your game as a hobby or a sport?

Well, there goes the hornet's nest again...
