Just saw you was online, could you let us know what exactly happened with the score sheets in the pro finals, and the different score sheets of the Avalanche / Iron Men Game that were supposedly "found".
There are a lot of rumours flying around, and it would be good to clear them up, cheers.
Now this is a tale waiting to be told
Suffice to say, from what I know and in my opinion, the Russian Legion, on points scored, actually won the tournament with SC Ironmen coming in second place.
Now the reason the SC Ironmen were awarded first place is because the wrong score had been put down on the score sheet of the game they had with Avalanche.
Avalanche say they shot three SC Ironmen, as do everybody else I have spoken to but the score sheet incredibly showed only two which gave the SC Ironmen the one point that was needed to push their noses in front of the Russians.
For some reason, this score-sheet was lost until well after the Russian Legion v Strange game had finished even though the SC v Avalanche game finished before the RL v Strange game begun.
When the sheet did surface, the mistake had apparently been signed for and the rules of the Millennium did not allow the correction to be made thus handing over the victory to the SC Ironmen.
Go Figure !!!
All I can say is this, if I were Sergei (And I talked to him for about an hour on the phone after the event) I would be very, very, very, very pissed off but as he said to me on the phone, 'Pete, what's the point?, I am not going to moan or complain, we will just get on with it'
Hmmm, not sure if I could be so well controlled, especially after what happened in Portugal.
We have gotta sort this out Millennium because if we end up losing one of the greatest, if not the greatest team ever to have played because of ****e like this, it will be Paintball's greatest tragedy and at the moment, we are nudging the Russians closer and closer to retirement.
There are a lot of things that just don't add up in this matter and some people have tried to keep a lid on some aspects of proceedings but if you were to ask me who won Amsterdam, I think you know my answer !
