Awaiting my Alias to arrive. Just wondering if anyone knows where I can download a manual before it gets here to have a read up on it? Have found the 2k2 manual on bob longs site but assume there are loads of differences from the older was timmys to the new frenzy based ones.

Anyone got any ideas?

Ta muchly.

I've looked there tonight. It all seems very confusing. People just throwing in what they 'think' is right to do. Would rather have a definitive guide as suggested by the manufacturer if you know what I mean :)

AFAIk there isn't a manual for the Alias yet, if there is it would be on www.boblong.com

Basic things are the same, just ignore specifics on where things are :)

As for the settings on the board, just leave them stock and don't mess with them unless you have a problem when you use it, stock settings are fine.

Thanks for the reply guys.

From what I've read your just greasing up the two regs. The ram, and poppet basically every time you have finished playing.

People are also suggesting that once gassed you don't degas it until the end of the days play?

Anyone want to add to or dispute any of that ? :)

Many thanks again.

yeah you should just leave things gassed up once its set for the day, its not just timmy's though really, any marker than uses springs in regs will be more consistant if you leave it gassed.

As for grease, to clean/re-grease the Torp and LPR takes 10mins tops to do both. I do it before every major "event" but don't if it's training etc, and I could get away with less. The poppet I do about every month or 2 playing every weekend.

Timmys are very like cockers in that if they work don't mess with them, I don't grease the regs until I need to (like they are creeping or inconsistant say) or take anything apart unless there is a problem.

With timmy's, doing 'preventative' maintentance causes more problems than it prevents/fixes, just turn it on and enjoy until you have to fix something.
