They are.......good
More usefully, the best places to find out all about them are the AKA owner's group;
http://akaowners.org/forums/
And the AKA forum at PBNation;
http://www.pbnation.com/forumdisplay.php?f=149
Which, unlike some parts of PBN actually has grownups and helpful comments and everything.
But in a nutshell; Simple, built to such tolerances that they only need a couple of drops of oil now and then as maintenance and have been clocked at 31bps using a Q-loader. Some of the best regs in the industry give very good consistency, just use a light touch on the HPR when adjusting the velocity as they are quite responsive and DON'T touch the LPR without a tool kit that allows you to monitor the pressure as you can overpressurise the 'noid.
You can get the necessary oil, some parts and reg bits from AKA directly at
http://www.akalmp.com/main.htm (pretty quick and cheap postage from the US) and for everything else go to Destructive Customs at
http://www.destructivecustoms.com/ who offer milling, servicing and eye installation, although there are no more 2003 eye covers around. That said, with a good fast loader and a Tadao board from
http://tadaotechnologies.com/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=3&idproduct=11 capped at 12bps you won't find chops a huge problem as long as you don't shoot your hopper dry too much. Have fun
