Some people will say yes and others will say no, the main benefit is how much lighter your gun will be, but then you'll most likely need to add a stock to replace the bottle. personally i usually use a remote hose but then i use a 1.5 L bottle so carrying it on my back is best for me, the down side is not being to easily see how much air is left but you learn how much paint you can shoot before running out of air. People who play tournaments will point out that you can't switch hands easily with a remote but i suspect most of them have never tried. If you're going to get one, get one with a slide check or pro connect, that means you will be able to disconnect from your gun without having to turn the air off at the bottle and purge the line.

I tried one when I first got into paintball and sold it after one use. Found stretching the coil across my chest awkward when swtching hands and got it caught up in vegetation etc. Buy a nice light tournie style marker, and the lightness means no need to use a remote.
