Basically MANY MANY people seem to have a massive vendetta against woodsball ONCE they join airball paintball leagues. They act asif it takes no skill at all to play scenario paintball, well to be honest, it takes just as much brain power as airball, if not more as you can`t even see your enemy half the time lol.

I don`t see the point in putting the two against eachother, you arn`t any better for competiting in airball, you arn`t any better by any means lol. Its just a choice and a way people like to play the sport.

What you guys reckon?

As you can probably tell I enjoy playing more big games, but I also play airball =D

Enjoy both really =D

The thing is 99.9% of paintballers started off by playing woodsball the moving in to airball. So the only reason they are playing airball is because they played woodsball originally and must have enjoyed it.

That's why I don't understand when people say woodsball sucks, as that was the first type of paintball they played. So if it sucks why did they play it, and enjoy it enough to buy their own gear to eventually move on to airball.

Sorry if that make no sense at all, I'm tired :p

Haha yeah nah your totally right, most people play a rental day or two first and that gets them involved.

I`ve now played both, and I stick more to the woods side as I find it really really enjoyable, I find that once I`ve run up and down an air field about 10 times a day it starts to get boring.

But yeah thats a good point, but yeah I always get people trying to sort of make out they`re amazing at paintball because they play division one or whatever.

But for some people its not about trying to show the world they can play airball, I prefer to spend time in the woods with my best mates.

you make it sound that there is some massive resentment between the 2 classes of game. But i dont think there is ,
Sup'air is just a result of evolution, like with most sports out there. There is a void but thats because the 2 games are totally different.

You said you have played both, and you prefer woods as its more enjoyable, fair enough but most people who play sup'air prefer sup'air over woods like you prefer to play woods, or they wouldnt be playing sup'air... right ??? ..... its a total different style of game which i believe cant be compared anymore.

For most, they prefer sup'air because its faster, it feels more of a sport, its more competative being a multi team league based sport like football etc etc, and to top it off, it has shiny stuff.

I love playing in the woods, i find it is a great laugh having a nock about with my mates, but thats all it will be for me and most sup'air players,,,, just a nock about.

i've spent time with feet in both camps, and enjoyed both for their own merits.

there is no need to "resent" or have disdain for one sort or the other - and to be fair that feeling can go both ways.

playing in the woods is totally different. scenario paintball is a full day of nonstop play. it takes a different mindset to play, but many of the skills are the same.

on the sup'air field you have few minutes of fast and furious action - most of the time. i've seen too many games degenerate into nothing more than lessons in laning and bunker sitting, but that's another story...
sup'air is a much more intense buzz. it's short and sharp and you can't wait for the next hit. but there in was also the problem for me. the endless wait for the next match. 10-15mins game time, followed by an hour or more of sitting about. it lost its appeal.

we should respect both. they are both two sides of the same coin.

It's all about preference, challenge and enjoyment. :)

Different people find those things in different aspects of the game.

No need for for resentment...........if you have time for all that then you need to get out on the field more. ;)

If this is the case from the people youve spoken to then they're quite narrow minded.

Coming from a group of players predominantly scenario, (in the last 2 NvS games weve hit 100+ players from our team), its all about preferance. some of us play airball, some play both some play just scenario.

You will have the odd person going 'omg scenario totally sucks' Thats not them hating it, thats them just not preferring it.

Ive competed in both formats, and enjoy both for very different reasons.

BUT I have never heard a supair player say a single bad thing about woodsball, and you know why? Because we dont even talk about it.

We dont all walk around slagging off woodsballers. We are far too caught up buying shiney multicoloured guns every two minutes, breaking them, and pretending we are pro ballers on the internet.
