Hey guys,

So i have decided to start playing again, i dont want to play airball and want to move into the woodsball/recball side.

Im looking between the Dye Dam and the Etha + EMC with a load of upgrades.

This is not my issue.

My issue is with Air, which tank is going to give me the most shots (ie last the longest between refills.) I have a lot of trouble getting tanks filled and some sites i play at are still Co2 and either wont let you play with air (as its not their tank) or give you a lot of **** because you do.

So i am looking to purchase a couple of tanks fill them up at one of the HPA sites and then play wherever?

Also any suggestions on a marker would be great.

Thanks

Tom

Air, and basically the bigger the cylinder the more shots
If you can transport it a dive cylinder and a fill rig will enable you to run one cylinder and keep topping it up
Not - avoid filling from empty and top up as often as possible. This will maintain the scuba cylinder pressure for as long as possible

Pressure wise a fibre cylinder will last longer when filled at 4500psi. But this is dependant on your options
If you go for multiple cylinders then your money will go further for more air capacity with aluminum/steel 3000psi cylinders

For capacity shot comparisons use scuba toys :

If you're going to be running a remote setup, I'd advise a 1.5 litre tank or bigger, there are even 2.0 litre tanks available.

You'll need to remember that you will need a way if carrying it, a standard 4+1 pack won't hold bigger than a 1.1 I don't think...

A tac-vest will allow pretty much infinite combinations of molle holders.

The most economical way would be to get a load of cheaper aluminium or steel tanks for HPA. The easiest way to carry it all (in bags) would be a big carbon tank.

CO2... just use the site bottles??? (rent it off them).

Personally I wouldnt use either of those guns with Co2, so if your going to a Co2 only site, use their guns as well! That way your not ruining your expensive marker.

If you are going to be playing Scenario/Woodsball, you will not only want a tank that can hold a lot of air, but also a tank that isn't crazy heavy. I would suggest the new SupraLite air systems that are going around at the moment, I have one for both scenario and tournament and it has to be felt to be believed. It is so light it is unreal. With a 4.5k fill you will get a high shot count through an Etha! so if you had a couple of these, it should suffice for you..

Alternatively, if you are going to have it mounted on your back with a remote line, I guess you could go and get one of the huge Guerilla bottles that are available :) again 4.5k fill would suffice but again you might need a couple depending on how trigger happy you are in the woods haha

For scenario / woodsball it is not essential to have high capacities of air

In any game it depends on how long the game is. EG punter rental games last about 15 to 30 minutes, scenario games could be all day long, a morning and an afternoon game or an hour or two per game
Even in an all day long game you will get eliminated at some point or need to break for food & drink
Circumstances will vary and respawn could be reasonably instant with medics & respawn bases or you could be returning to a central point such as the safe zone
Some events have in game air supply either as mobile air stations such as scuba fills at bases or some sites have full fill rigs with in game safe zones

How much air & paint you carry also need to be balanced. There is no need to carry more air then the paint you are carrying or more paint then you have the air for. These are also dependant on the efficiency of your gun
(The exception to the rule could be all day long events when you want to be constantly in play and have carried all your paint to hq or an in game safe zone)

If the goal is to have more air capacity for sites that don't provide air fills then the investment in cylinders of £ per air capacity comes out best with multiple 3000psi steel/aluminium cylinders. You get 4 or 5 standard cylinders for the price of one fibre cylinder

I've got a 1.5l 4500PSI tank, and It shoots 9 pods and a hopper and that's all the paint I can carry. Also isn't too heavy and doesn't look too crazy when attached to the marker.
