Hi i have an dive tank 232bar (3000 psi) and a 1.9ltr bottle with 3000 psi reg when filling bottle i only seem to get about 2000-2500 psi in bottle even when dive tank is full is this normal?

Also i have been offered a 1.1ltr bottle with 4500psi reg can i still use my dive bottle or do i have to get higher pressure dive tank to fill bottle?

I am new to air systems so any help would be great.

Simple maths says that if you have 3000 in one bottle and then connect it to another empty one, both bottles will equalize the pressure between them and reduce in pressure slightly so for instance both bottles will become equal at 2900, then the next fill will become 2800 and so on, figures may vary in practice but you cannot fill one bottle to a different pressure than the other, unless your shutting the connection off before the gun bottles full?
As for using a 4500psi bottle with your 3000psi dive tank, then the answer is yes you can, but you have to ask yourself why would you want to? as it will do nothing different to the set up your already running !
If you want to go to 4500, then sell everything that's 3000 and replace with 4500 stuff !
3000 and 4500 are maximum working pressures, you don't have to reach these pressures but you cannot exceed them.
"FILL A 3000 psi BOTTLE TO 4500 psi AND IT WILL KILL YOU"
These pressures really are that dangerous ! BE CAREFUL !

You can still use your 232bar dive tank to fill a 4500psi bottle...but it wont fill it to 4500!!
Unless this is a problem for you, I wouldnt worry about the 300bar dive tank yet...most tourneys supply air...and you could probably but two s/h 232 bar tanks, for teh price of one new 300bar one...they arent very common s/h as divers dont use them.
