AIR RIGS?? H-PAC or Technical Paintball

Ok guys im about to invest around 8-12k in an air rig for my site all you guys use air and i need some help!!!!

Ive had quotes off both and i need some advice and reason why i should go with either, ill be able to fill to 4k on both systems but am generally looking to run at 3k for my punters

On the sup'air days and larger walk ons if you need 4.5k for all you fussy buggers out thier ill be getting in the Bedford from H-pac

Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Dont forget, that you may need a 3 Phase supply, which will cost about a grand, if you dont currently have one...get a compressor, that can handle more than you want, or it will not like straining its guts out, on a regular basis...I assume you will be getting banks? (big 7 ft long bottles, to fill, then decant from)

H-Pac have a very good, rep..not familiar with the other one, so cant comment

Well..I mean, the setup my mate had (ran a dive school) was an old, but kin good compressor, that would kick out 4500 all day long, because it could handle more, so if its viable, do it, then you wont have to pay H-Pac...he also had about 4, very large (bigger than a Co2 main tank), cylinders, all linked, which he used to fill with the compressor, then, he could decant from them into smaller bottles at leisure (also, because he used to fill the tanks at the end of the day, it meant he didnt have the compressor running at night, disturbing the neighbours).

You probably wont need much in the way of banks, as he was filling 12 and 15 litre tanks, not 0.8-1.5 ones, so he needed a larger reserve...you would have to estimate air usage on a busy day, and allow for that, plus a bit, when your looking at banks....

Just a thought but is there any reason why you can't regulate a 4.5K compressor down to 3K?
Then you'd be able to do both, i can't see any reason why not after all my compressor will vary from 20-150psi so why can't a dive compressor vary?
Worse case scenario you surely should be able to get it with two pre-set outputs, high & Low?
Just a thought;)

Yes you can throttle the output down from 4500 to 3000, but what he is/should be more concerned about is the amount/volume of air being pumped through at that pressure and how the compressor will handle it.

Having a compressor run at 4.5k will wear it out faster than running it at 3k too.

Mikie (from the M25 Jct 10 site) rented 1 of the bigger rigs from HPac (i think), it was capable of 4.5 k but was set to 3k and coped well with about 25 us on the day.

We at paintball alexandria use a 4500psi compressor.

We use 50 3000 psi 1.2 pmi air bottles and have 2 3000psi 42 litre storage tanks.

Generally we keep the two big tanks full, use one of them to put the bottles up to 3000 psi then generall will go down to 2500 after 10 fills. ...i think (ill ask stevie c)

Then we switch the compressor on to fill the bottle we justed used up and switch to the other full bottle to "jag" the 2500 bottles up to 3000.

Then after 2-3 games when the puters come up for thier lunch we look at the bottles and anything under 2000 gets put back up to 3000 using the fresh bottle.

We have yet to run a walkon day on air but if I or stevie etc wants a 4500 psi fill attach our bottles directly to the compressor.

Thats how we do it (i think am normally arsing about)
