the guide lines ive always been told with regards to paintball, is that any form of air bottle has a 3year test life.
In which case your bottles out of test anyway.
i personally wouldnt want to run the risk of pushing it to 5 years, because i really wouldnt want the thing to explode.
for the sake of 30 quid, and a few weeks away. its not worth getting picky. id just do it.

Air Tests

The Airforce1 guys do it (the boys with the big red truck at the Series 2002 events) I think it costs £32 including postage to get them tested, Heres the e mail they sent me:

If you send cyl to us at
H-PAC SERVICES LTD
UNIT 1 OLD DOMINION EST
WITHY ROAD
BILSTON
WEST MIDLANDS

We use jiffy bags from post office, they also insure any parcels sent, we
return by parcel force insured carraige 24 hr service.
Cost of test and carraige is
£20 for test
£7.75 carraige
ex vat with vat comes to £32.60 turnaround 5-7 days

Valves

I'm afraid my knowledge stops back there somewhere!

I' sure they will remove the valves for you, give me a few minutes and I'll find out, they have said that the most tests are failed because of the threads rather than the bottle itself and is mainly down to people using loctite on them, so I would not chance messing up the threads by trying to get it off your self.

Cheers
