More shots from Co2 though. But the extra couple hundred balls aren't generally worth it, unless you've got an old school shocker, and you can only get half a hopper out of your 114/45 :D

Never met a Shocker owner have ya :)

At low pressures like the Shocker runs on, Co2 delivers more shots per fill. Low pressure = high volume. When high volumes of air are being used to fire the marker, efficiency decreases. Since Co2 is stored as a liquid and expands into a gas for use, you can store more of it in the same space, and you get more shots.

Um, no. Looking at very rough numbers, 20oz of CO2 (somewhere around half a litre) will give you around 1000-1200 shots on most markers. 1.1 litres of air at 4500psi will give you... around 1000-1200 shots on most markers. So CO2 does give you a lot more shots per unit volume - about twice as many.

Many basic markers will work equally well on CO2 as on air, as long as they're set up correctly (there's the catch!) I noticed no marked improvement switching from CO2 to air on my Piranha, for example, even in the winter. There's just no point spending lots of extra cash to upgrade a cheap marker with air. Most higher-end markers will be much happier on air, though. And as you say, the cost differential is getting smaller all the time.

Luckily the Imp comes with just such a reg. The MaxFlo works quite well with CO2. Of course I'd prefer to use CA, but for some people it's not an option. In those cases, CO2 with an anti-siphon tank can work quite well on the Impulse.
