Hi guys, ive just been given a new 232bar 12ltr scuba cylinder for nothing, but i was told from a team member that im in need of a 300bar 12ltr cylinder instead. Is this fact true or can i fill my evil scion air system with the 232bar cylinder?

many thanks

a 232bar is fine mate, it will only fill to 3000psi, and you will prob get 3-4 proper fills then you will see the pressure fall slowly to like 2500psi etc etc. a 300 bar bottle will fill to 4500psi but i think you will get a fill of about 4200psi for a few times then it will start to fall, the only benefit of a 300bar is the fill of your bottle will be higher, but then its not a major deal.

your evil will work fine with a 232bar tank

You just won't get so many fills at as high a pressure from a 232 (3365 psi) as you will from a 300 (4350 psi).

Your preset will happily cope with tank pressures down to about 1000 psi usually (about 600 with a LP setup in my experience)

Now for the science bit:

1 Bar = atmospheric pressure

Therefore a full fill on your 12 litre cylinder would be equivalent to a volume of 2784 litres of air (at atmospheric pressue) and a 300 would be 3600, or 23.5% more.

If it bothers you, sell the 232 on ebay and pick up a 300, for the extra fills!
