Ok, I feel like a right n00b for asking this, but so far I've seen 2 different lengths of time before bottles need testing. My current bottle was born 6 years ago, and at an M25 event 3 years ago H-pac told me it would need testing after the event, so they did. It's now been 3 years and now my bottle is out of date, or so I thought after the fact it needed testing after 3 years.

But with Stako's lasting for 5 years, and other people on here selling bottles which are 3 years old, but they say still have 2 years of life left before testing is needed (i.e. 5 years in total), it seems bottles can go 5 years before they need testing. I was always led to believe that air bottles needed to be tested every 3 years, and co2 bottles were needed to be tested every 5 years (yeah, like anyone ever did that).

So what is it? Does my bottle still have 2 years of test left, or does it need to get sent off for testing?

Cheers,

Charlie.

This is due to a change in the regulations
As H-Pac tested your bottle after the change, then depending on the make and composition of your bottle you will have either 3 or 5 years before retest.

Best bet is to ring H-Pac on 01902- 494988 and give them details of bottle and retest and they will let you know exactly

ok thanks for the replies. going by the rules I should be ok as it was tested after July 2003, but like Dark says I'll ring H-Pac to confirm. Cheers.
