So, I am confused about what the procedure should be. I have always been told to drain all of the air from any bottle when shipping it. I was just told by a fellow seller something very different. They told him at royal mail that the bottle shouldnt be full or empty. In order for it to be safe it has to have some air in it (if I understood him correctly). What is the truth? I dont want it blowing up the next time I ship one!

Thanks for the answer :p they must have some very misinformed employees at royal mail then....

Some airlines ask you to remove the reg from the bottle so they can see inside the bottle,so it would be hard to send it half full ;)

Always empty via airmail, and as gassy has stated most airlines require the regs removed.. Or when sending your parcel overseas and only want it land mail you need to put stickers to state DO NOT FLY.AIR

This is what I was always told. I was never forced to take off the reg but always had to ship empty. I guess Im lucky that I received the bottle in one piece :\

As far as I am aware ALL airlines require regulator to be removed.... not sure it counts when shipping but i have flown alot of airlines and now all are saying to remove reg :)

I know TSA now demand it so im assuming europe is the same now.

we've always dismantled the reg to halfs and removed burst disks - has always done us fine when travelling.

posted stakos in the UK - but with a tiny amount of pressure so that they are not empty as per stako's instructions.

i wouldn't send any type of bottle by airmail with any air whatsoever in it....
