Advice please

Hi guys I'm not new to paintball but I really do lack knowledge in the marker department.

I've got £400 to spend on a marker and would like some advice on what to get.
I've got a creed but would like to 'upgrade' so to speak
I'm looking for a speedball marker.
I do like the dm13's but have been told for the money there are much better markers out there.

Any help and reasons would be great guys

Have you used any other markers other than the creed? so basically do you know if your looking for a poppet or a spool? As for DM's they are fantastic value for the money

Sadly no I haven't used any other markers apart from the creed

Have no idea the pros and cons of a poppet or a spool

Don't worry about that, we all start somewhere. Generally speaking - Poppets are meant to be more efficient and easier maintenance, slightly (like really marginally) less accurate (as they are slightly less consistent) and have a louder sound signature where as spoolies take a little more to maintain, are more consistent and therefore slightly more accurate and have a lower sound signature.

Neither one is better than the other its just down to personal preference. With £400 I would be considering (second hand wise):

Poppets: - Ego 11, Ego 10
Spoolies - Dm12, Dm13, Geo 2.0, Geo 2.1, Geo 3.0

Mainly because they have a massive following so plenty of help available, widely accessible parts and the customer service from both companies is incredible.

Poppets = you see the bolt going back and forth
Spoolies = you can`t

It's down to personal preference really, see if you can shoot some other peoples markers to get a feel for what you like.
For around that price range you could get Ego 10 possibly 11. DM's, Geo, Axe. A wide range really.

An Axe is a definite upgrade from the Creed. Having bought an etek 4 and used a friends Axe I would say get an Axe. Value for money is amazing.
