X7 seems to take all the good stuff from the A5 and improve on it slightly.

It's as reliable as the A5 but significantly lighter. Also really easy to mod and upgrade.

The thumb selector switch is good.

Ratchet is suspect so worth upgrading and the standard barrel is cr@p.

I've had A5's for ages (and still have a few), the X7 gives you everything the A5 has but more.

This is only my opinion from using both, so for the love of God dont start on me or I'll tell your mum

The X7 is lighter than the A5 because...

1. Bits keep falling off it !!

2 More bits keep falling off it !!

I like the look of the X7, I just dont like the feel.

Good luck on deciding.

personally i like the A5 better. i found the X7 very uncomfortable and clumsy, but then your hands are different to mine so try both of them first and see which you get on with best.

I in all honesty prefer the A-5. It's a proven design, and prices are now coming down becasue of the X-7.
Although the X-7 cyclone hopper can handle 20 bps, the firing mechanism can tops reach 8 bps, and the E-boards aren't out yet I believe.
Meanwhile the A-5 can reach 16 bps on a 19 bps hopper, and you aren't allowed more than that in most tourneys.
So....
Go for the A-5 on a basis that it's better value for money and more reliable with a currenly larger selection of USEFUL parts.

My mate has an X7. Its really light but a pain to hold... I would recommend it with a stock I suppose.
