while it will work reasonably well on air for a while there are a few alterations tippmann reccomends. this could just be a cynical marketing ploy from them but there are a few things from which you might benefit from

MIne runs just fine on air. I recommend the use of a vertical regulator like a Palmer stabaliser.
if you a flatline on air (98 or a5) your accuracy will be top dog and will be as uber as a flatline can be.
