SCOTTISH WARRIORS THANK SMART PARTS.
The Scottish Warriors, Europe's Elite Scenario paintball team, would like to thank Smart Parts Europe for all the support they have received over the last 4 years.
Without doubt one of the most recognisable teams on the European paintball circuit, The Scottish Warriors began their partnership with Smart Parts at the start of the 2006 season. The association began when team captain Tony Lindsay bought the entire first UK shipment of what was to become one of the benchmarks of Scenario paintball markers – the Smart Parts SP8. Later the team moved to the SP1 tactical marker, seeing a new product that was again pushing the boundaries.
“The SP8 had something that no other scenario marker offered at the time.” said Tony. “It gave us a huge advantage on the field and generated immense interest in the marker.”
This brought the team to the attention of Phil Webb, Chairman of Smart Parts Europe. After some discussion this lead to full kit sponsorship of The Scottish Warriors – something previously unheard of for any scenario paintball team in the world.
“As a team we are always pushing forward with ways to make ourselves and our sponsors a success.” Tony said, “We have been with Smart Parts now for 4 years and have seen great things happen for both the team and the company. We always had the opportunity to have the latest innovations, such as the SP1, keeping us at the forefront of the scenario paintball scene.”
2010 sees big changes in the both the make up and aims of The Scottish Warriors. This season sees the team drawing on a 31-man squad.
“This squad will provide us with 3 teams, allowing the Warriors to expand into tournament paintball, as well as to continue building on our reputation on the UK and European scenario circuit.” Tony explained.
With this change in direction, comes a change in sponsorship. The Scottish Warriors will be ending their relationship with Smart Parts and moving on.
“We are really pleased to have had the level of support we have enjoyed from Smart Parts for the last 4 years.” said Tony, “But now is the time for change and we thank Smart Parts whole-heartedly for everything they did for us.”
