A Revolution or should that be a revaltion in British paintball

What is UKPL? No it’s not another paintball magazine, it’s the future of British paintball. The UK Paintball leauge was formed on wenesday March 5th 2003 brining together the uk’s main event organisers Steve Bull of the Series 2003, Les of Midlands Masters, Chris and Rob of the South West Leauge, Patrina (sparklie chick) of the M25, Nicola and Wayne on behalf of Phoenix Paintball. Liz Fur was voted in, our independent chairwoman.

How dose this benefit you the player? With a new series incorporating 6 of the Uk’s premier events enabling your team to earn qualifying points towards the national finals. The top 22 point scoring teams will be invited to attend the final, each series MM, SWPL, M25 and S2k3 has 3 wild card entries, to allow for teams who had performed particularly well in that series, but had not qualified due to being unable to take part in the other Premiere events. A further 2 wild cards entries will to be agreed by the governing body, giving a total of 36 teams.

Organisation Date Event/Location

M25 6 April
Phoenix 20 July Phoenix Cup
SWPL 26/27 July Bournemouth
S2k3 9/10 August STB Elsham
MM 27/28 September Welsh Open, Wrexham

This is how the qualifying points work.

Division win 10 points
Second place 9 points
Third place 8 points
Fourth place 7 points
Fifth place 6 points

All other teams will earn 5 points for taking part
In addition, a team may earn 10 points for marshalling one leg of the premiere events, though they cannot earn more for marshalling more events.

In conjunction with the UKPSF we are standardizing the rulebook.
We have also voted to adopt the midlands masters disciplinary committee not only for the series, but to become a national committee with each team having been invited to put forward one member, along with representatives from the industry. This committee discusses major rule infringements and agrees on the appropriate action to take, all major incidents will be reported to the UKPL committee. It was also agreed that any player banned from events by one organiser for major infringements such as physical violence, would be banned from all the members events.

The UKPL hopes to encourage teams to travel and try different events and with the new system of standard rules and discipline this should help make that easier. The UKPL feel that this is the way forward and are working together with you the players to improve the future of British paintball. To find out more contact your regional area coordinator:
