A Quiet Gun?

This is probably a stupid question, but I must ask it. What makes a gun quiet? When I watch tapes of tourneys, most of the guns only make a 'click-click-click' as they shoot. My gun equals a small explosion with each trigger pull.

What's the difference?
Is it mainly the gun?
If so, what are the mechanics of it?
Is it the air system?
Does the barrel play a role?

Thanks in advance, everyone.

all of the reasons you mentioned would help not the air system though but the main reason tapes of games make the guns sound so quiet is cos the sound recording is far away from the players

Low pressure operation + good ball to barrel = quietness

You'll probably notice that Shockers, Impulses and the Matrix are mainly the quietest as they run at around 150psi....and any other gun that runs that low pressure will be just as quiet.
